Milk for Infants: Formula vs. Breast Milk

Article Source:http://www.babycenter-blog.com/2010/08/01/milk-for-infants-formula-vs-breast-milk/

The one thing many mothers to be want to know is which is better. Is formula all that bad for your baby or should you really breast feed? There are some women who will find that for one reason or another, they can’t breast feed.
When that happens, they might have to result to the formula. However, if you are given a chance, there are many benefits that many doctors will tell you that are in breast feeding.

The milk from your breasts is better for your baby as they have enzymes in it so that your baby will be able to fight off infections better. This is something that many like to know. The less your baby is sick, the happier parent you will be.
Many will tell you that there is a bonding factor as well included when you breastfeed. Since daddy can’t pop out a breast and feed the child, this is left to you. This is a perfect time for your child to feel your touch.

The thing is though; there are some women who don’t have this choice. The choice to breastfeed or to bottle feed is a big decision. Some women can’t take that long off of work nor will they be able to find the time to go to their child to breastfeed. They can pump however. Some women though have to result to formula if the baby isn’t gaining enough weight. This means that they might be lacking something in their diet. For some women, they just can’t produce enough milk. This doesn’t mean you are a bad mom or anything. Many who can’t breastfeed worry if formula is any good. After all, you do hear all this stuff about breastfeeding, but what do you really hear about bottle feeding? Some will tell you that they have noticed more gas in their baby which is true. However, they do have formulas now which are to prevent that from happening.

There are many formulas now which now include more enzymes and other things that the baby might have lacked in the past when they weren’t breastfeeding. However, more studies are being done to help increase the nutrients that they need when they have to result to formula so mothers like you no longer worry. This is something that many mothers are very happy about as they know that their baby is getting everything they need in order to grow nice and strong.

Some babies plump up right away when they are bottle fed and this is a great thing. Again, this has to be your choice unless there are medical reasons as to why you can’t do this. If you are debating this and you still need more information, we encourage you to talk to your doctor about this. They can offer you more one on one information regarding where you stand and your baby stands as to what is best for you and your child. As with most cases, it differs from woman to woman.
